After setting up overnight, the concrete we poured yesterday was firm enough to strip the formwork. It only took a few hours for Edward, Khyber and Nick to pull all the spreaders, stakes, 2 x 12's and keyways. Consolidation with the 3" slump mix and vibrator was almost flawless.
We water treated the spoils left over from the footing trenches and compacted them around both the interior and exterior sides of the foundation, bringing the grade up to the bottom of the ledger. You can see this ledger clearly in the photos.
We were done with the foundation clean-up by noon, then started right in on setting the displacement boxes for the doorways and the big wall forms. I'll share that with you in tomorrow's post.
